• Re: For those historians out there

I am pretty certain that the Lucas Terrace was destroyed in 1900. I think 80ish lives were lost and 30ish people were trapped within and eventually were freed from the wreckage. The owner rebuilt the apartment, not sure if it was at the same spot as the original. 1407 Broadway, Lucas Terrace, 1907. The first Lucas Terrace was demolished in the 1900

Click on my name and scroll down to the very bottom and there are a couple files that you can download. These are excel spreadsheets with many Galveston hotels with their locations, phone numbers, pricing and yes even a column to let ya know if the hotels are pet friendly. Unfortunately this spreadsheet was created prior to Ike so be sure to call to

I am certain that Goodell must have taken bribe money in order to drop so low.
I doubt that. He didn't need any bribe money above his salary to take that action. That's what he is paid to do. Welcome to the world of professional athletics in the USA. Family values
If the NFL allows this SOB to put on a football uniform, I'll never watch the game again.
I got your back Lurker. I am sickened that Rodger Goodell (NFL Commissioner) would even consider reinstating Vicks. I am certain that Goodell must have taken bribe money in order to drop so low. Bah, dont get me started
Aha! So, you have come through again, Johnna! Soap box time, indeed. Let me just say that I totally disagree with just about everything you said, Lurker. Actually diametrrically so. I firmly believe that unions long ago outlived their value to society, and have actually contributed to the downfall of our economy in

  • Joke

You guys may have heard this before, but I just read it today. "A Galveston Story" A young woman in the sleazy part of the old Galveston Strand was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the harbor. She went down to the docks and was about to leap into the frigid water when a handsome young sailor saw her tottering

Island cat had mentioned Shrimp stop, it was really a nice overall experience last time I hit (at least a year ago), but I heard that the owner had either shut the place down or sold out to someone else. Is it still the same? I got to recommend getting a hamburger and basket of onion rings from "The Spot"!!!

I am not sure if those ordinances would apply way out by the toll bridge, not sure if that is consider city limits or not. As far as wearing a thong, I would know nothing about that. You might want to ask Old Dawg, I have read on this forum on numerous occassions that he wears a thong. Hope this helps.
