Re: Roll call
Hey, Lynnie.........unfortunately, as far as I know there is nothing to prevent the trees from shedding nuts. It is mother natures way of protecting the trees. Survival of the fittest. Some years it is lack of water that the trees shed what they can't support. On good years with plenty of water, the clusters of nuts crowd each other and the stronger

Re: Roll call
Hey, Dixie.....the greenhouse is small, only 10' x 10'. We have a dwarf orange and lemon tree that need a place to stay during the cooler weather....they are in containers. I also plan to grow bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, stuff like that in container gardens inside the greenhouse. I also plan to grow flowers for flower pots and start plants

Re: Roll call
I'm here........I usually check on the forum every weekday morning to see what is going on. Unfortunatly, lately, I don't see too much that needs my input. The hubby did finally build my greenhouse.........now I'm looking for cool weather to start using it. We are actually getting a little bit of rain today as well. The monsoons have pretty

Re: Lunar landing
I remember that landing because I was doing something I wasn't supposed to be doing. And I'll never tell but each anniversary of the lunar landing puts a smile on my face. Hi NM Lady!! I've missed you. Hope all is well out west. How's the pecan orchard?
Tsk, tsk, Lynnie........ Thanks for

Re: Lunar landing
I remember the lunar landing. I was 14, we had lived here in Las Cruces for 6 months, and it was the talk of the town. I do remember watching on TV, but it was kind of hard to tell exactly what was going on. July 20th also happens to be my wedding anniversary (24 years this year), but the anniversary of the lunar landing was not a factor in selecting

Re: Flagship Info Question
I heard the flagship is being torn down. They are starting on it by the end of summer.
That's awful. I had such a good time there. Now with the new webcab at the Sunspree, we will be able to WATCH it being torn down. I think I'm gonna cry [:'(].

Re: Trees
Well, I'm not in Galveston..........actually far from it, BUT I do happen to have a crepe myrtle and pecan trees (45 trees) and none of them have come back to life yet. The crepe myrtle looks dead and if I didn't know better, but it's only 3 years old. Hopefully your arborist buddy is right and just give it another month or so. My fruit

Re: Roll call
Well, I'm still around, here and there, mostly there. As I mentioned before, I spend most of my time on FoxNews and GretaWire.com. GretaWire is a blast if you aren't an Obama fan. I'm not. I know, who the flock cares. I care, THAT's who cares. Back to GretaWire.............
okay everyone else..... Lets get a date set!! McCool , JR , NMLady all of you yankees living north of the Causeway , lets set a date to have a party!
Well, NM Lady will have to sit this one out as usual. We (me and the Mr. NM) never venture anywhere during the summer short of a quick weekend trip to the lake.
