    Yeah, I think that's either a fifty-eight or a fifty-nine Mercury in the first shot.  I don't remember well enough to tell the difference, but those fins pin it down to one of those two years, I'm pretty sure.

    And a beautiful shot with the rangefinder.  Those cameras turned out some great photos in the hands of somebody with a good eye.  In my hands they turned out nada.  I used SLR's mostly in those days, and I didn't do all that swift with those eitherSmile

    Lurker was right... 59.  I believe my dad bought that rangefinder when he was in the service.  He shot that thing all the way through to the 80's.

    Looks like a B-17.  So, was your dad a pilot? Every time I see that old gal that's based on the island flying around down here, I think about the crews who manned those things during that war. Real sitting ducks, flying that big mama through flak at what seems like a snails pace by today's standards.  That took some real guts, and I will always admire the guys who did it.
