    Does anyone remember Buddy Kirk?

    If I remember right, he was a "big" band leader of some sort and very popular in Galveston back in the day.

    For some reason, when the Flagship was at her best, I think he used to play there and I think the Jack Tar Hotel. 

    Lurker could correct me.

    Buddy was a big band leader. Had a night club here in the 70s, and into the early 80s. I saw Sally Rand do her fan dance there when she was about 70 years old. I don't think that she ever had any plastic surgery done.  Those fans hid a lot.
