Student looking for part-time job during the week

Hey,

Does anybody know of a job opening in Galveston area? I'm looking for part-time work, preferably during the week. I can't work nights, but wouldn't mind working an occasional weekend. I can do office work, cashier, retail...pretty much anything that does not require hard physical labor or a special certification.

I'm willing to travel as far as League City.

Galveston.com & Company is seeking two seasonal employees for our call center. This position will run from now through Labor Day (Sept 7, 2009). Hours will vary between 30 and 35 hours weekly. The positions are both for nights & weekends. Weekday nights may begin as early as 4:30pm through 10pm. Weekends may range from 8am to 10pm depending on the shift. Employees will have the option to work from home after a two-week in office training period.

Responsibilities include:
- Call Center staff are responsible for handling incoming calls inquiring on:
                General Galveston information
                Searching for and booking hotel rooms
                Booking airport transfers
                Booking cruise ship parking
                Selling tickets to local shows and events all through our proprietary software.

Qualifications should include:
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-A positive attitude is extremely important - employees may be the first impression guests receive of Galveston Island.
-Ability to work independently
-Strong organizational; interpersonal and telephone skills
-Computer with high-speed internet
-Attention to detail and accuracy
-Computer & internet savvy
-Quiet work environment
-Punctuality is 100% critical.
-General knowledge of Galveston is preferred

Looking to relocate to Galveston Island

I am looking to relocate to Galveston Island in the near future. I have always loved the Island and the wonderful people that live there. I am currently going through a divorce and want to start over. Ya know. Anyway I have over 10 years experience in the Accounting field and was wondering if anyone here knew of any job openings. I am currently working for an Oil & Gas Company up here in Fort Worth, Texas. I do not necessarily have to work in that same field. I am very interested in going back to school to become a Nurse, but that will take a while. I would like to maybe work at UTMB in their business office since that would utilize my Accounting skills and get my foot in the door at the hospital.

I also am going to be moving with my 2 year old son and was wondering if anyone knew a good child care provider and maybe find out the cost.

I have been looking online and my resume is on monster.com and it does say that I am looking to relocate to Galveston. I would like to have a job that is close like on the Island or as far as Texas City but I do not want to drive to Houston having that I would not even get to enjoy living on the Island and I also have a small child. Two hours in the car with a two year old everyday is not a pleasant thought.

Anyway I know that the people of Galveston are great people and I really want to be a part of that. I would be grateful for any information that I could receive.
