Hey everybody thanx for all of the suggestions. Our day In Galveston was great! We didn’t get there until about 3pm, but we made the most of everything. We started everything off by going to “art in the park”. There wasn’t much to look at, but it was nice. We really enjoyed the art exhibit on the strand. I forgot what the shop was called, but it was wonderful. We were there for a long time. We’re both really big art lovers. After that we shopped around on the strand for a while and just goofed around and took some pics. We then ate dinner at Fisherman’s Warf. After dinner we went to the beach and laid out a blanket and snacked on fruit/dip and I surprised her with a mini birthday cake. Then I played acoustic guitar and sang as we watched the sunset and waited for the stars. We chilled a while and ended up going to “movie on the strand” and caught the last half of the film. Overall, she had an amazing time. She tells all of her friends and thanx me constantly. So…Thanks to all of you!

I had a 4 day weekend and didn't do 1/2 as much as you! I wanted to do all those things, but....

Glad you enjoyed your day. Next time stay awhile!

If you can't have fun on Galveston Island you can't have fun anywhere. I am glad you had a good time, down there it is easy to do.

Just wish I could do it every day!!!

Keep an eye on the hotel rates , now that the season is over you can get a romm for next to nothing.

Nothing is better than the guy standing there with his wallet open, saying honey get whatever you want, honey i love you, i want you to be happy, all that other bs, esp if it is something she has always wanted but would never buy for herself....some people jewelry, some people clothes,, ME camera equipement hahahahahaha

Hey I'm new to the Houston area so I dont really know much. I would like to take my girlfriend to Galveston this Saturday for her birthday; maybe for a nice dinner and a sunset on the beach or something. We havent really been around the Galveston area before. I was hoping I could get some recommendations for resturaunts, places to go, activites for us to do during the day while we're there. Thanks everyone.

Welcome to Houston and the forum, RJ. You will find plenty to please your gal on the Island. A carriage ride is a great idea, thanks to NMLady. Also, a harbor tour is nice, too. Especially watching the dolphin..all wemmen love them. Let us know where you went.
