My husband and I are planning on camping in a tent for the first time in galveston May 7th 2009. We are trying to find a place to stay that is safe. Would like to be as close to the water as possible. Are there any places that have showers? Any info would be apreciated.

Is there a good place to tent camp. my husband and I will be comming later this week and just decieded to try to camp instead of staying in a motel.

OK! There is a new RV park that is about year old. It is 5 miles out on the west end. past Jamaica Beach. It's called Jamacia Beach rv park. It is across the street from th beach. you can walk but most people drive down this little rd. and you can park right on teh beach there. A older couple move here from up north bought about 32 acres ofland and build a house. then opened the rv parl about a year ago. They have a nice pool and hot tub. with a kiddie water play area. the bathrooms are teh cleanest I've ever seen at a rv park. they also have a exercise room. on weekends tehy serve breakfast. and on certain nights I think wed. , fri. and sat. tehy have movie nights. they blow up a big screen. I loved it. you can't miss it. its on teh right side about 5 miles out. I will be staying there again for sure. annnette.
