 The Spot is opening a bar!!  Just got this info from Myspace

If you're on the Island and wondering what we're building...It's a new beach-front bar. It will be 2 levels, wrapped with decks with unbelievable beach views, and of course be stocked with the liquor of your choice served by our all female staff.


We'll give it a different name, change the atmosphere, and throw the best parties on Galveston Island.


By February, you can come enjoy 3 venues under one roof all overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.

 She is doing better than she was.  The doc gave her 2 shots, and 2 heavy duty antibiotics.  I'm just glad she is not in the hospital.  Thanks for asking, Dix! 

 I love/hate going to the web cams. Checking out the view from The Spot cam makes me wish I was there and Chewing. What a view. I am in dire need of a Spot Burger, some rings and a pina colada. It comes in the coconut shell so it's cool. I'm not foo foo.

Ok maybe a beer. I Just wish I was there.

 The answer would have been, had you caught me, Yes! All of the sudden I was so hungry.....Then I started reading this Spot thread and sure enough...off to the fridge I trotted. I had made grilled Pork chops for dinner so that had to suffice. I did imagine it being a big juicy burger, though it wasn't quite the same

Never had a Casey's burger until last month when we did my B'day I think, but I agree that they ain't half bad at all.  And they aiin't skimpy either.   Pretty close call but I think I might still go with the Spot burgers. 

However, I'm thinking that I may need to do some more research on the subject.  And soon.

 I was at the Spot last Sunday for the first time "post Ike". Food was as good as before, but the portions seemed to be a little on the shy side. My wife and I usually split the onion rings. We ended up with about 4 each. I usually go for the 1/3 pound burger and ended up throwing away 1/2 my roll. Don't recall ever having done that before.

I was back at "The Spot" for the first time in months and this time my burger was spot on! I still think the large order of rings has gotten smaller, but they were as tasty as ever. It was raining Saturday (9/12) so we ate inside. My wife commented that for the first time it wasn't freezing in the front dinning room. Turns out they had an AC problem. 

After running around in the rain all day I wasn't up for checking out "Drip". Maybe next time.
