Is the taffy machine operational?  That is what I like best about this place!!!

Last time I was there, was in April before Ike hit in September.  and what is even funnier, I took pics I normally dont even think about taking down on the Strand..

Please, Suejm, have a piece of taffy for me!!

If they have it, I surely will.  Going to bring a big bag home.

When we were there in August, they said they had no taffy because the machine wasn't operational yet. It was in it's usual place looking very rusty (wonder why) with tools around it. Hope they have it fixed by now so you can take some home. I always bring lots of it back for the girls in the office. Maybe next year for me.

I wonder why they didn't take things apart before Ike hit, knowing it was gonna pretty much be a direct hit on the island?  Would have saved a lot of time and effort later...

Nobody knew what to expect. I left things on the floor that I could have easily carried upstairs. One of my neighbors actually moved stuff that was upstairs down because her second story was damaged during Alicia.

if you did it everytime there was a threat of a hurricane , you be constantly building up and tearing down. also , keep in mind this is a place of business , there isn't that much time , so if there is a threat , you'd more likelyspend your time taking care of home not work.

    Good question tho JR .

Look at all the galleries that left art on the walls etc. Like I said no one knew what to expect.

Back on topic....The pumpkin ice cream at La Kings is awesome!

Had ice cream - coffee bean flake - there on Thursday, and it was as good as ever.  I bought taffy to bring home, and when I asked if they'd be making taffy on Saturday morning, they said "probably" but I didn't get back down to watch.
