&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ve been in stronger and Claudette was about as strong as I am comfortable with. I took lots of photos and can remember the car rocking back and forth as the gales swept through.&lt;/p&gt;

Very interesting to say the least. I would never want to be in one any stronger than that.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Actually, there have been at least three &amp;quot;Claudettes&amp;quot; (remember they only retire the names of the super-storms). There was Tropical Storm Claudettte in 1979, mentioned above. Hurricane Claudette in 1985. which formed off the east coast of the U.S, and moved out into the Atlantic and Hurricane Claudette in 2003 (mentioned above), which more ashore near Port O&amp;#39;Connor, bringing 44-mph sustained winds and 54-mph wind gusts to Galveston, along with 5.30&amp;quot; of rain and a 5.7 foot tidal surge.&lt;/p&gt;
