12th Annual BBQ Fundraiser/Silent Auction and Street Fest

On June 26, 2009 Galveston Beach Patrol will be hosting the 12th annual BBQ fundraiser from 6pm - 10pm tickets are 15 dollars and the event will be held at the Press Box on the corner of 24th and Postoffice. This event is always a blast for all ages from the young to the elderly everyone is there to have a great time. This event is also a huge fundraiser for competition, educational programs and anything else that Beach Patrol's regular budget will not pay for. This is when you can directly support our lifeguards after all they are here for us. I hope to see you there.

Beach Bathing Revue, May 16, 2009

Saturday, May 16, 2009, I grabbed the camera and headed to the beach on Saturday to check out the bathing beauties contest. It was a blast, organized by the Islander By Choice, the Pageant of Pulchritude, drew a huge crowd.

Twenty eight women and two men sported vintage bathing attire. Twelve women also competed in the modern bikini contest.
